A website for your event: a wedding, a birthday or a conference in one evening
Details of an event shared in a group chat get lost within a day: the address is somewhere above two hundred messages, the time changed twice, and someone still asks about parking. An event page gives everyone one link with all the details, always up to date.
What goes on an event page
- the name of the event, the date and the time;
- the place, with a map;
- the schedule;
- practical details: dress code, parking, how to get there, where to stay;
- a way to reply;
- a contact for questions.
The request
Make a one-page website for our wedding: Maria and Tom, 14 June 2027. Ceremony at 16:00, dinner from 18:30 at the same venue. Sections: welcome, schedule, venue with a map, dress code, where to stay nearby, reply form. Elegant and light, lots of white space, works well on phones. Add a countdown to the date.
Give the agent the real names, addresses and times in the same message, or put them in a text file in the folder.
The map
In Google Maps, open the place, choose Share, then Embed a map, and give the code to the agent. Or simply ask for a button that opens the place in the maps app on the guest's phone.
Replies without a server
The page is static, so it cannot store replies itself. Use a form service: create a form in Google Forms or Tally, then ask the agent to embed it in the page or to link to it with a big Reply button. The answers are collected on the form service's side, often straight into a spreadsheet.
"Add to calendar"
Ask the agent for an "Add to Google Calendar" button with the date, time and place already filled in. Guests who tap it will not forget the date.
When something changes
The dinner moved to 19:30? Tell the agent and say "update the website". Everyone who opens the link sees the new time — better than a message that sinks in the chat.
Privacy
Anyone with the link can open the page. If it contains a home address or names, share the link only with guests, and ask the agent to keep the page out of search engines — it adds one line to the page for that.
After the event
Keep the page with photos from the day, or delete it: "delete the wedding site". Each event page is a separate site on your plan: Basic includes 1 site, Plus includes 5 sites, so you can keep an event page next to your main site.
