15 ready-to-use prompts for building a landing page with an AI agent
A good prompt for a website is a good brief: who, what, for whom, in what style. Below are fifteen prompts for the whole path, from an empty folder to a published page. Replace the parts in capitals with your own details.
Getting started
1. The first version
Make a one-page website for BUSINESS. Visitors are WHO. The main action is ACTION. Sections: first screen with headline and button, reviews, services with prices, how it works, FAQ, contacts. Texts are in brief.txt. Works well on phones.
2. From an example you like
Here is a site I like: DESCRIBE WHAT YOU LIKE — colours, spacing, fonts, mood. Make my page in a similar spirit, but do not copy its texts or images.
3. Structure first
Before writing code, propose the structure of the page: sections, their order and what each one says. Wait for my answer.
Design
4. Style
Make the design calmer: fewer colours, more white space, one accent colour COLOUR for buttons and links.
5. Mobile
Check the page at phone width. Make the text at least 16 pixels, buttons easy to tap, nothing wider than the screen.
6. Images
Use the photos from the photos folder. Convert them to WebP, resize to at most 2000 pixels wide, and add alt texts.
Texts
7. Headline options
Suggest ten headlines for the first screen. Each under eight words, saying what I offer and to whom. No clichés.
8. Plain language
Rewrite the texts in plain language, as if talking to a customer. Shorter sentences, no marketing words, keep all facts as they are.
9. FAQ from real questions
Here are questions customers actually ask me: LIST. Turn them into an FAQ with short, honest answers. Do not add questions I did not give.
Checks
10. Invented details
List every fact on the page — prices, numbers, names, addresses, reviews — so I can check that each one is true.
11. Links and buttons
Check every link and button: where it leads, whether the phone and WhatsApp links use the international format.
12. SEO basics
Add a unique title and meta description, one h1, alt texts, the lang attribute and Open Graph tags with a 1200×630 preview image.
13. Speed
Make the page load fast: compress images, load images below the first screen lazily, remove unused CSS and scripts.
Publishing
14. Publish
Publish this website.
15. Update safely
Change only SECTION: WHAT TO CHANGE. Do not touch anything else. Show me what changed, then update the website.
One more tip
Keep the prompts that worked in a text file next to the site. Next time you start from your own best brief. And if you are unsure what sections to ask for, the landing page structure lays them out.
