Vibe coding a website: how to make your first site without knowing how to code

"Vibe coding" is what people call building software by describing it to an AI and accepting the code it writes, without reading every line. The term spread in early 2025, and it describes something real: people who have never programmed now make working websites in an evening.

A website — especially a landing page — is the best place to start. Here is how to do it well.

What you need

  • an AI agent that writes files on your computer: Claude Code, Codex or Cursor;
  • a folder for the site;
  • a clear idea of who the site is for and what a visitor should do on it.

A routine that works

  1. Start with a brief, not with a design. Who the site is for, what you offer, which sections, which one main button. Two paragraphs are enough.
  2. Let the agent build a first version. Do not ask for everything at once.
  3. Look at it in the browser — on a computer and on your phone.
  4. Ask for one change at a time. "Make the prices a table." "Move the reviews above the contacts." Small steps are easy to check and easy to undo.
  5. Read every word. Agents fill gaps with plausible inventions: a phone number, a review, a "10 years of experience". Remove what is not true.
  6. Publish, and keep iterating. Connect the agent to aiput.site and say "publish this website". Every later change is "update the website", and the previous versions stay if you want to go back.

Talk about results, not code

You do not need technical words. "The text is hard to read on my phone" works better than guessing at CSS. Describe what you see and what you want to see. If you have a site you like, describe what you like about it.

Where vibe coding works well

  • landing pages, business cards, portfolios, event pages;
  • menus, link pages, simple multi-page sites;
  • prototypes to show an idea to someone.

Where to be careful

  • Anything with accounts, payments or personal data handled by your own code. A mistake there is a security problem, not a typo. Static sites avoid most of this: forms, payments and bookings are handled by dedicated services.
  • Facts. The agent writes confidently whether it knows or not.
  • Keys and passwords. Never paste them into a page, and keep your agent's settings out of the website folder.

Your first evening

Pick one small, real thing: a page for your side project, your services or an event. Brief the agent, iterate for an hour, publish. If you want a starting point, a business card website in one evening walks through a full example.

Your AI agent made a website? Let it publish it. Plans start at €7 a month, and the first 14 days are free, no card needed.
